Frequently Asked Questions

To help you better understand our photoluminescent pigment, we’ve gathered and answered the most frequently asked questions. Should you have any further inquiries, don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

Photoluminescent pigment, often known simply as “glow in the dark” or “luminous” powder, gets its glow from rare earth elements. This special pigment can soak up light within a 240-440nm wavelength range and then glow when the lights go out. Keep in mind, though, the glow does fade over time.

Our main trio includes yellow-green, blue-green, and sky-blue, which are all super vibrant. But we also offer some high-end shades like orange-red, red, and violet. These come with a heftier price tag because of the rare earth elements in them, but they’re not quite as luminous.

You can mix these pigments into a wide range of clear or semi-transparent materials, including inks, plastics, glazes, and resins. Whether you’re printing, molding, or coating, these pigments can add a vibrant glow to your creations.

Absolutely! Glowinking boasts an array of photoluminescent items from fire safety signs and films to boards, slip-resistant strips, and even stones. For the full range, just drop our sales team a line.

MOQ is 1KG. If you’re keen to try before you buy, we do send out 100g free samples – you’ll just need to cover the shipping.

Standardly, we pack 1KG into each bag and pop 25KG in a paper barrel. Got a bigger order? We’ll use wooden pallets. And if you’ve got specific packaging in mind, let us know – we’re flexible!

We offer various particle sizes:

  • 100-200 mesh (around 80-150 microns): Perfect for crafting tiles and glassy bits and bobs.
  • 200-300 mesh (around 50-80 microns): Ideal for print work, molding, and making glassy crafts.
  • 300-400 mesh (around 35-50 microns): Great for prints, molds, luminous films, and paints.
  • 400-1000 mesh (around 15-35 microns): Spot on for paints, prints, molding, and glow films.
  • Over 1000 mesh (less than 15 microns): The go-to for ultra-fine paints, relief printing, and glowing fibers.

Our top-quality glow powder, when machine tested, reaches a 3mcd/m2 luminance for over 20 hours. However, the perceived glow duration can vary based on factors such as viewing distance and individual eyesight.
